I hope everyone had a great weekend! I cannot believe that March will be here later this week. Below is what we are doing this week in Ms. Alex's classes.

US History- We are starting the Great Depression. We will talk about the Causes of the Great Depression and life during the depression.

Geography- Students will learn about Canada and its geography.

Current Events- We are continuing to listen to NPR's Hourly Updates and watching CNN 10 (Student News) daily. This week we are focusing on stories that have not received much media attention. We are focusing on "The 33" men that survived 69 days in a Chilean mine in 2010. We have listened to an NPR report and are currently watching the film. After the film, there will be a discussion on how and what the media reports and why some topics fall through the cracks.
