Courses
I teach High School Social Studies in a wide range of classes including Geography, World History, United States History, Government, Economics, Personal Finance, Psychology, Sociology, Current Events, The Civil Rights Movement, The Cold War, and World War II in depth.
The typical classroom has a wide age group in each classroom as well as ability level for each student. I create differential instructional plans for each class to meet the educational and behavioral needs for each of my students and classes.

In this course students will focus on the events contemporary developments in the United States and rest of the world through CNN Student News, NPR radio broadcast, and other news outlets. Students will focus on a current topic relevant to the class and conduct in-depth research on topic.
African Studies
Current Courses

This course covers the events and ideals in United States History. This course will focus on the topics of Reconstruction after the Civil War, Settling the West, Industrialization, Urbanization, and Politics and Reform. Second semester will focus on the topics of United States Becoming a World Power (after the Civil War), the Progressive Era, World War 1, Normalcy, the Great Depression, the New Deal, and World War 2.

American Government is a required course for graduation. This course prepares students to participate in exercising their political responsibilities as thoughtful and informed citizens. Students will learn about the foundations of American Government, the origins of American Government, the Constitution, and the Branches of Government. This course also prepares students and gives the US Constitution test as required by the federal government.

In this course students will learn and discuss the events that led to and during the Civil Rights movement and important Civil Rights leaders.
Civil Rights Movement

Geography is the study of the physical features of the earth and its atmosphere, and of human activity as it affects and is affected by these, including the distribution of populations and resources, land use, and industries. In this course students will explore the Themes of Geography, Maps of the World, explore the Geography of the populated continents of the world. The student will also have a research project in which the student will research a country and become an expert and present their findings in a presentation form.
